I help early-stage founders work out what to build. Most of the work I do is near the start, when there are a lot of things you could build and not much evidence yet. Usually there’s already something people are using but not paying for, or an idea that feels right but still needs testing.

I’m big on intuition. I don’t think the answer is to bury it in process. We work out which instincts to follow and what to test next. If I think we’re solving the wrong problem, I’ll say so.

I’ve spent my career doing this work early - often as the first product person in the door, before there’s a team, customers, or revenue. That’s the stage I know best.

Building software is getting cheaper. With AI, even more so. The hard bit is deciding what is worth making. When I’m not working with a founder, I build Staticpast’s own products. The first is Jo, a Mac app that turns photos into a carousel.

I work with one company at a time because I want to be properly involved. I’m there with you week to week, working through it decision by decision.
